You're not treating the patient but killing him... at over 90 whats the point of any surgery that will only put him in bed for probably the remaining of his life recovering??

Did you were given an informed consent to sign? Before obtaining the consent, did the surgeon explained to you what was wrong with you and what were the treatment options? Did they give you a choice of doing nothing? Did you chose surgical option and signed the consent? If you did not consent and surgeon has decided for surgery, it is battery. I hope it helps.

Any surgery at this age is discussed in terms of quality of life vs survival at all cost. Patients and families make an informed decision based on their understanding, beliefs and wishes. Not an easy decision, regardless. Physicians tend to favor life at all cost at the expense of quality of life. Recovery is many times unpredictable due to high risk of complications and limited resources left.
