My 14yr old son received pfizer vaccine 2days ago. no symptoms. today he felt a shooting pain from injection site to finger. he can bend and straighten finger but it hurts to touch and burns. no fever or other symptoms. could this be from the shot?

It is possible that this is a reaction to the vaccination since the pain begins at the injection site. The associated symptoms appear to be related to nerve pain, and your PCP should be informed. Watch for signs of swelling, numbness and coolness of the extremity. Check that his pulses in the arm are normal. The problem should self resolve and if not, please follow up.

Hard to assess neuroanatomy at this point. Believe this will resolve. Must add that some vaccines with attenuated viral particles have triggered brachial plexitis. To my knowledge, never seen with COVID-19 vaccine
