Common effect in kid: Children are a little more prone to get the common and accepted side effect of mild URI symptoms for up to a few days following modified live virus intranasal vaccines. These symptoms develop as the immune system is triggered to respond to the vaccine. Since kids have more frequent URI's anyways, it is not uncommon for illness to develop around the vaccine dose but not at all be related.
