A member asked:

I got a blow to my shin 1-2 years ago. it was very swollen, and there is still a lump on the outside of my tibia. the area is quite numb and sends sharp, fire like pain across my shin when hit. it does not hurt during a normal day unless hit. help?

You may have injured a nerve and now possess a residual neuroma. The impacts trigger painful nerve response due to neuronal short-circuiting. This should be evaluated and consideration for a medication to control "nerve pain" would be in order.

Sounds like a deep bone bruise but i would recommend getting x-rays and an orthopedic evaluation
