Had a hard stool and a known exterior hemorrhoid. wiped and there was a streak of blood. stools since have been fine with no blood. my doctor indicated to not worry as this might be from straining, which i was doing. still scared?

This is likely from your known external hemorrhoid. But, you can see a GI doctor to get examined to be certain. They can look into your intestines with a lighted scope to be sure there is no other reason for the blood. This should put your mind at ease so see a GI doctor. Best of luck to you!

Agree with Dr. Ferrantti. for constipation - You may take a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water daily so that your urine is colorless. For the long term you may try to increase your intake of fiber foods. Consult this site for fiber foods.
