I was recently diagnosed with m62.80 muscle spasm of back, intervertebral disc disorders with radiculopathy lumbar region. does this require surgery or can be treated with medication & lifestyle changes?

Back surgery is indicated if spine unstable, pain intolerable and unresponsive, progressive weakness and muscle atrophy, bladder dysfnctn. But most of the time, this symptom complex can be handled with physical therapy, exercise, and stretching.
