A cardiac MRI shows structure, not electrical activity. Your rhythm issue is better assessed with an EKG and/or Holter monitor.

The cardiac MRI shows the anatomy and the structure of the heart. Palpitations due to anxiety and fear are transient effects of the sympathetic nervous system on the heart and its rhythm. These may occur in hearts that are perfectly normal. I hope your son does not have palpitations when he sees you watching him from the sidelines!
