Core strengthening is the most common therapy but you are only as good as the weakest muscle providing support. For this reason, strengthening must include exercises to increase strength of the small stabilizing paraspinal muscles in the back. Long term, maintaining the strength in these muscles has the most impact in limiting chronic degenerative back disease.
