My brother had a cbd obstruction caused by a gallstone so after several tests and 25 days later, he went ahead with ercp and got it treated. will his liver recover from the damage or will this lead to liver cirrhosis in the future?

If obstruction fully relieved and does not recur liver should eventually heal itself without any residual damage. However, will need follow up care to ensure this does not happen again and to determine why this happened in the first place
