A member asked:

Can your period mess with your bowel movements, in terms of making you have more? and would it be normal for them to cause your stool to be a different color than nornal? like, dark green instead of brown?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Endometriosis can cause abdominal cramping with periods, due to small amounts of bleeding inside the abdomen. Endometriosis can also invade the large colon (bowel), with stimulation of contractions of the colon which speeds transit of waste products, resulting in color change and more frequency. Ask your gyn about bcp's, which will reduce these symptoms.
