My husband fell over a week ago he fell out of his power chair face first onto our hard tile floor i called 911 to have an ambulance to take him to the er he had to get 5 stiches could the fall cause his face to swell?

Certainly. Did the physicians in the ER check for fractures? Swelling is perfectly normal with such an injury but is should be subsiding after a week. If not, have him reevaluated.

Yes, he likely suffered a hematoma or bruise as well that should slowly resolve in days and aside from possible preexisting conditions causing swelling or edema.
