Can feeling hungry cause your stomach to growl and for you to salivate more?

Yes. When your stomach is empty, it will send a signal to your brain that initiates a variety of hormones. These act throughout the body to cause a feeling of emptiness, stomach growling (which is just peristaltic motions), increased salivation, and increased blood flow to your extremities. It can also increase impulsiveness and reduces the ability to make long term decisions.
