6 hours ago a small toddler wooden chair dropped on my big toe. it hurt, its now slightly swollen, and my toenail is bruised. i also have a small lump below my toenail. it hurts to move it, is stiff and throbs consistently. is it broken or bruised?

Sorry this happened.This could be broken or bruised.Hard to tell without an exam or X-ray. I would recommend you see your doctor, or an UrgentCare or the ER to do this and get the proper diagnosis. For now, the treatment either way would be to splint it (tape it to the toe next tot it), ice it for the next 24 hours, and take over the counter pain meds if needed (ibuprofen or acetaminophen).
