A member asked:

There is a cyst on the right ovary measuring 2.3cm x1.6cm x 2.1 cm having a hyperechoic minimally vascularized mural nodule measuring 0.7 x 0.4 x 0.6 cm vascularity: color flow can someone explain this to me? will this require surgery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ovarian cysts with hyperechoic areas may require biopsy to determine cell types, and this is usually done via laparoscopy. While "minimal vascularity" is usually a sign of non-malignant growths, your gyn provider may recommend surgical excision.
