You probably ought to have a cardiac stress test to determine if there is any problem with exercise. You would exercise while your heart is being monitored to see if it causes any heart problems. So, see your cardiologist and ask about this test before you start any intense cardio exercises. Better to be safe than sorry! Best of luck to you!

You have asked an important question but not provided enough detail to answer adequately. A bicuspid aortic valve may remain without symptoms for many years if there is no associated regurgitation of the valve or stenosis. Personally, I do not believe you need to exercise to a heart rate of 170 to remain fit. The best advice? See a competent cardiologist and follow his/her advice. Good luck.
