VP shunts do not cause headaches and should control the effects of hydrocephalus. See your neurosurgeon and discuss your symptoms, and have shunt status evaluated.

I would discuss your symptoms with the neurosurgeon who placed the shunt. It is possible that the shunt could have become malpositioned or clogged so that it is not draining the ventricular fluid properly as was intended. It's also possible other issues like bleeding could be a cause of problems. Either way, you should tell your doctor immediately about your symptoms.
