A member asked:

I had possible bloody nipple discharge, so i had an u/s done today. one breast has 2 8mm complicated cysts. bc of discharge, dr recommended a mammogram. what are complicated cysts? why would dr also recommend mam- what can it see that u/s can't?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A mammogram can see deeper into breast tissue. Also it detects microcalcifications which is an important clue in detecting breast cancer.
