I had ankle surgery yesterday and when i arrived at home, i could pee only a little and my bladder still felt full, plus the pee was clear not yellow and i was drinking a lot of water. did the surgery cause this? how long does it last?

It depends on many things. Kind of anesthesia, size of your prostate and medication for pain mostly. Operating on the ankle does not cause this problem. If you had no problem before then with reducing pain meds(if you are on them) and ambulation you should be fine.
