A member asked:

Do i need to throw away makeup after strep throat? i use cream products (e.g. concealer, blush, lip balms, lipstick), powder, mascara. also, is sanitizing a tooth brush with hydrogen peroxide and hot water enough?

While it is a consideration to replace cosmetics after a year, most people probably don't. If you were treated, you are unlikely to contract strep anew from your cosmetics. Washing your toothbrush with soap and hot water is a good idea.

After a virulent infection it is a good idea to replace your toothbrush. In general, toothbrushes should be replaced every 3 months,
