Lactating breasts present extra weight and therefore movement within confining clothing (shirts, bra's, etc.) and if sores were present , scabs may be separated from normally healing areolar tissue, and additional bleeding or "itching" is possible with only a three week absence from pumping. Firm outer garments and reduced activity may assist in the healing.
