Typically an antibiotic regimen of Fluoroquinolones (Ciprofloxacin) and Metronidazole are the first line of treatment. If there is a history of intolerance or side effects with fluoroquinolones, then Amoxicillin-Clavulanic Acid (Augmentin) can be used. Talk to your Dr for a thorough evaluation and prescription.
