I woke up today and my right side of my ballsack is more red, shiny and has like a hard leather feel to it not itchy but it does hurt here and there.. could it be from irritation? i've been staining a deck?

Any chance that you might touch your right ball sack when doing the staining yesterday? If yes, you may experience contact dermatitis (the stain irritates the skin). If that is the case, clean it well then dry and avoid further contact with that specific stain. The site will heal by itself if the contact stopped. You can apply some cortisone cream if available.
