I have had severe lower back and hip pain for years and it's steadily getting worse. i have degenerative disc disease, arthritis, and bone spurs. i limp, have trouble walking and standing upright, and can't stand more than a few minutes. help?

Appears you have widespread wear and tear, assuming not prior confirmation of inflammatory arthritis. Medication merely will slightly help discomfort but will not provide longterm benefits. Physical therapy in a pool, or using Red Cord equipment, with eventual McKenzie exercises does work, but must be gradual. A sacroiliac belt often is useful

The pain may be related to your arthritis in your back and also may be a condition known as spinal stenosis. If the pain is relieved when you stop walking but not sit down I would recommend a vascular consult. If I ever get to sit down and look forward to relieve the pain it’s most likely coming from your back it was related to a form of spinal stenosis. Either way I would go into an orthopedic.
