A member asked:

Went to er 3 months post hysterectomy with abdominal pain. ultrasound revealed several fluid filled bowel loops in pelvis as well as several peripheral lined follicles on both ovaries, suspicious of polycystic ovaries. are fluid filled loops normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All imaging results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, fluid filled loops are not normal and you should consult the surgeon who performed hysterectomy. Wish you good health!
