I would never feed an infant suspected of cow milk allergy any milk. Some with true milk allergy can die as a result. I would also never prescribe steroids to an infant that age with suspected food allergy. It interferes with their immune system. The treatment for food allergy is to avoid the specific food.

A screening test for milk and food allergens allergy is recommended by a blood test. The presence of eczema increases the likelihood of food allergies. Avoid cow's milk and use a hypoallergenic formula.
