A member asked:

Is ringing in the ears a symptom of hay fever or an allergy of some sort ? i went to doc and she gave me cetirizine and told me to use my humidifier.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tinnitus: Ringing in the ears is not a characteristic of nasal allergies although extreme nasal congestion can cause blocking of the eustachian tubes resulting in blocked hearing or earache. Of course if ringing of ears disappears when nasal congestion resolves, it may well have been related to allergic reaction.
