We know that nsaids strips off the mucus from stomach lining making it prone to damage from stomach acid. but does nsaid also directly cause injury/erosion to stomach lining on topical basis? as and when it comes in contact with the lining?

May depend on which prep you are using. Go to Drugs.com for details on one you are using. Have you tried elevating feet at head of bed. Gravity never sleeps.
