Oral cancer at your age is extremely rare. When is the last time you've been examined by a dentist with radiographs? Your issue may be as simple as a wisdom tooth erupting. Call for an appointment.

One may not 'see lesions' but it could still be Herpes . Most likely Simplex (type1), as One is unlikely to have type 3 (Shingles) at age 17. The PCP or Dentist can figure this out with a visit.

The PCP should examine you and refer you according to the findings. You may have a problem with your TMJ causing chronic diffuse pain in the area. If is new, it may be the early stage of Shingles (Herpes Zoster) before the vesicles show up,, you may have Trigeminal Neuralgia( a sensitive nerve being fired up abnormally) or a malocclusion, etc. The tests will confirm it’s not cancer.
