Most cases are benign and transient. Numbers are not treated, but conditions. If you have workup to detect a specific condition that indeed is positive, treating that specific condition will help with the respective count. Your actual count would be borderline normal on the low side for most labs.

First, it depends on whether this is new or within one's normal Lymphocyte count (Range 1,000-4,800). Chances are that if there are no other abnormalities in the Blood Count, this number, though on the lower end, is no cause for alarm. Some people just run low lymphocyte count (as their normal), unless they have Infection, in which case the number goes up.

What symptoms do you have? Were other lab tests done? One does not treat a lab value, but a patient. This count may be your normal. Talk to the doctor who ordered this test as s/he knows more about your health. Wish you good health!
