There is no realistic possibility the nurse re-used a syringe. And the nurse being infected makes no difference: There are thousands of HIV infected doctors and nurses in the US, and none has ever infected a patient in the process of giving health care. This is nothing to worry about. (That's why health care providers are not required to disclose their HIV status to their patients.) No worries!
