Unlikely an issue: Most icu's maintain some redundancy in their monitoring which allows the staff to continuously monitor the blood oxygen, expired co2 and other features of a ventilator with equipment that is physically separate from that ventilator.( a separate monitor ) if the unit was not maintaining such redundancy, it might be an issue.
