Unlikely an issue: Most ventilated patients are in units that maintain some extra monitoring which allows the staff to continuously monitor the blood oxygen, expired co2 and other features of a ventilator with equipment that is physically separate from that ventilator.( a separate monitor ) if the unit was not maintaining such redundancy, it might be an issue.
