For perioral dermatitis around mouth my 8 yrs old son was given cortoderm 1% gm ointment 2 times/day but after 2 days the pinkish rash has subsidized but the rash area has turned brownish now like a scar. using only cicaplast levers now.what to do?

What is cause dermatitis? Food allergy(use steroids) , tongue effects-lip smacking (steroids) or herpetic lesion( viral infection) or impetigo ( bacterial) ,as that impacts treatment. Herpes takes 10-14 days to clear up and may requires antiviral treatment with acyclovir , impetigo requires antibiotics ( topical and or oral) . For discoloration consider a bit of silicone gel .
