You are unlikely to be a diabetic. 2 hours postprandial blood glucose of 200mg/dl or higher in an individual who has suggestive symptoms of diabetes such as excessive thirstiness and frequent urination makes a diagnosis of diabetes. Your primary care doctor can easily measure Hemoglobin A1C and order glucose tolerance test to be sure.

When you eat blood glucose goes up. This released insulin in pancreas. Insulin is needed so the sugar can be stored or used in the cells. The standard test I called glucose tolerance test. You need to follow a standard diet for 2 weeks and then drink a standard glucose solution and have blood sugar sampled over the next 2 hours. Then levels are completed to standard for your age & gender & BMI.
