A member asked:

Well differentiated net 2mm arising in background of chronic atrophic gastritis with intestinal metaplasia. ki-67 shows a proliferation rate of 1-2% in this limited sample what does this mean? its a noncancerous tumor? is it precancerous?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, rest of the lesion should be removed and examined by a pathologist for a complete assessment. Wish you good health!
