Slow, repetitive stretching can alleviate the tightness and make you more flexible. Start slowly so that you do not damage muscles or ligaments. PT is advisable because they can come up with a structured regimen that can bring you relief. Talk to your PCP in order to get alternative recommendations for stretches specific to your condition.

For your body gradual physical exercise remains best while for your mind and to alleviate the anxiety seeing your doc in person will be best so that he or she can coordinate locally with a psychologist and possible treatment if needed. Meditation and relaxation techniques are always part of the treatment.

It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor and discuss if you may be depressed. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water. Wish you good health!
