Seasonal influenza has been rare in the past year; the protections against COVID are even more effective in preventing flu. Therefore, COVID is more likely. However, 99 really isn't an abnormal temperature and doesn't count as Fever. It's fever only if over 99.5, or usually 100 degrees or higher.
