I take blood thinner medicine (acitrom 2mg) daily since i had blood clot in brain. do i need to stop my blood thinner before taking covid vaccine or any other precautions? i'll be taking covishield or covaxin, thanks?

There is no need to stop the blood thinner. Tell the person giving you the vaccine. You may wait longer than 15 minutes, at the clinic, after the shot to make sure there is no bleeding in the tissue. Wish you good health!

Continue your current medication. There is no contra-indication for the vaccine, BUT, due to change in bleeding time, you could have local bruising at site of injection, or prolonged seepage of blood, so, have area bandaged to avoid soiling clothes.

No need to stop. You will need to put pressure at injection site for longer duration to make sure that it does not keep bleeding
