A common dose at that age would be 1 inhalation with or without a spacer every 6 hours. If one puff did not help after 20 minutes another could be used. If the kid were in trouble breathing after 20 min a call to the physician would be recommended.

The triggers of her asthma should be assessed and reduced to avoid flare ups. A virtual consultation is an option to review your asthma action plan. The use of a spacer device is recommended. The dosing may be verified with the physician and pharmacy. Starting with one puff is reasonable, but the dose schedule and addition of a controller medication should be discussed with your PCP.
