A member asked:

My son is 14 years old and 5'2 , he had a growth spurt during grade grade 5 to grade 7. and has grown nothing more than 1 inches each year. is his growth spurt already done and should i bring him to a paediatric to evaluate?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A growth rate of 1"/yr is not normal for males in puberty. It suggests they are approaching the end of growth or are deficient in the hormones that support it. I would take his records to a visit with his doc so they can be reviewed & appropriate studies done.
