A member asked:

Can a person ever become vitamin d deficient despite significant sun exposure? i.e. are there any conditions that would prevent a person from utilizing vitamin d from sun that could develop at age 30?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"Significant sun exposure" may provide serious concerns (skin cancer, melanomas) so use screens on exposed areas, and simply add a multivitamin with 200 units of Vitamin D on a daily basis, which provides sufficient protection against Vitamin D deficiency.
