A member asked:

Is it likely living with a hemoglobin between 20-30 for several years would cause heart damage? if so what damage would likely be seen on an echo? there was no serious cause for the low hb, i'm a 32yo?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Let me start with the final sentence. I would look under every rock , until I found the cause of your anemia . It is not normal and not long term healthy. Logic Sez , if your anemia results in a high output state for your heart ( and you develop coronary or valvular disease ) the anemia makes things worse.
