I have gerd w/ esophagitis. i take an rx 20mg of famotidine twice a day. its in pretty good control with minimal flare ups. recently im constantly clearing my throat. it feels like something is there but there doesnt seem to be. is this related?

Yes, it could be related, especially your throat symptoms occur after a meal or on supine. Famotidine lowers the gastric acid acidity so you do not have heart burn but it cannot prevent reflux. Post nasal drip from sinusitis (allergic type with Spring season) can do the same thing. If you have experienced allergic symptoms you may try Flonase and Allegra (both OTC) which can give you the relief.
