I doubt that the 2 symptoms are interrelated. If your shoulder pain is not precipitated or aggravated by motions of the shoulder, then a neurogenic cause,such as an inflamed nerve or a bulging disc in your neck would be more likely than a tendinitis of the shoulder joint.
