A member asked:

Hi doctors. if the cdc were to allow cruises to resume, would that be enough medically for cruising to be deemed safe? what other criteria, if any, should fully vaccinated people use to decide if cruising is or is not safe at that time?

Without "herd immunity" achieved in the USA or around the world, cruising is still problematic, secondary to increased exposure in social situations with either re-infected or non-vaccinated individuals. No screening procedure has been found to be perfect, and even vaccinated persons can become re-infected in rare cases. Guaranteed safety is an unreached goal at this time.

LIFE must resume , to normal. High risk folks should Vaccinate, or identify how to self protect. All others can go about their life. As physicians we are called To always give risk and benefits of ANY treatment . Quarantine included. As humans we are born free. As a human MD , I am forbidden to take away others freedom.
