Clonidine indication: Clonidine, a centrally acting medication was initially approved for use in hypertension. It has since been used for treatment of multiple conditions (eg adhd, addiction-opiates, meth, nicotine, help with withdrawal symptoms, intrathecal for pain, etc.). Dosing depends on the condition treated. The immediate vs. The extended release formulations are not interchangeable on a mg:mg basis.
