I have had on and off back ache (feels like a stomach ache in my upper back). sometimes it resembles hunger pangs. this evening i have diarrhea and i am wondering if this pain can be related to something going on in my stomach?

Could be ... but on this forum there is no way to tell. Could be trivial (gastritis), could be very serious (pancreatitis) - or anything in between. If severe and present for more than a day or 2, suggest you go to an Urgent Care for “hands on” evaluation.
