Bilateral carotid discomfort is not characteristic of cardiac disease or of untreated hypertension. Your cardiologist must address your moderately elevated b!ood pressure even if it's labile.. Keep a record of your blood pressure morning, midday, & evening and bring the readings when you visit the cardiologist. More than likely you'll be started on a low dose diuretic along with another medication
