I had ventral hernia repair surgery my stomach is swollen on the right side will the swelling go down?

Yes, the swelling should go down. It depends on the length of time since your ventral hernia repair and location on your abdomen where the repair was done. I would suspect that you would return to appearance would be 4 to 6 weeks after the repair. You could expect the "feeling" of swelling could be longer. Your surgeon should be able to assist in your recovery.

It depends on the time after surgery. If it within a few weeks of surgery and if you have no other symptoms you should be O.K. gradually. But if it is many weeks past surgery check with your surgeon
