Quinolones: Can cause or induce tendon ruptures, I am not sure insertional tendonitis is blamed on quinolones......

Probably: Quinolones are notorious for spontaneous achilles rupture. If it is only tendinosis consider a topaz procedure it's minimally invasive and the recovery time is much less.
